Is there any way within the Kontact player to substitute an Expression pedal (CC11) for the Mod Wheel (CC1)? I still find the Mod Wheel a bit awkward to use, whereas it seems more natural (for me) to control the expression of the wind instruments with the Expression pedal. Unfortunately, my keyboard does not allow me to assign the Expression pedal to any other midi contoller other than CC11.

I'm assuming it's not possible, but I thought I'd ask.

Thanks.

If you're on a Mac, you're in luck. Google for MidiPipe, a freeware/donationware MIDI processor that will convert anything to anything else that you can think of. CC#11 to CC#1 is simple with MidiPipe.

Unfortunately, I have no idea if a similar programme exists in the Windoze world. But I'd be surprised if it didn't.

No, I'm on PC. Anyone know of any similar utilities for PC?

Thanks.

Two minutes of Googling (serch terms: windows MIDI remap controller) brought me to <www.squest.com/Windows/SQMidiTools/SQMidiTools.html>

This is their info on MidiMapper. Might suit your needs... ;-)

Remap MIDI channels
Remap any continuous MIDI message to any other continuous MIDI message :|:

Also, if you're on an MFX-capable host (Cakewalk, recent Cubase), you can try my TenCrazy.com MFX CC Map.

Thanks for the tip, Markleford. Unfortunately, I don't have an MFX host -- just using the the JABB standalone version.

Any other WinXP utilities like Midimapper out there in the same price range as MFX CC Map?

:)

If you cross your fingers and wait very patiently, I'll see if I can get a non-MFX utility together.

In the meantime, I always encourage people to go to check out MIDI-OX (www.midiox.com), which has a lot of people making scripts already. It's generally the case that you can find what you need already made by someone else before you!

Very worth the time and effort. And, of course, FREE! :)
