audi cracks when used with cubase

i hace a celeron 333 with 256 mb ram...
i am using giga with cubase...as long as there are no audio tracks playing in cubase giga sounds fine but with audio tracks the sound starts cracking when i play anthing on the giga track...is there any way to fix this...any settings that i am missing
help would be appereciated

oops forgot to mention the most important thing...i have a soundblaster live value

Check to see if you have cubase Asio set to directx. If you do, change it to ASIO multimedia drivers.
