Thought this might be interesting for people to read. Always nice to know a bit more about the unique instruments we mockup :)

One of the violinists I know and use fo my recordings has a Strad on loan to her.

She takes it everywhere with her --- even to the bathroom.

She let me hold it once --- what a thrill!!!

Arya, thank you for posting that link.

piano... you are SO lucky!

I just picked up Stradivari's Genius by Toby Faber. It looked interesting and I thought it would be fun to read up a little on Stradivari and his instruments. We'll see how it pans out once I start reading it. But as I said... it looked interesting.

Stradivari's Genius by Toby Faber has proved to be a wonderful read. I highly recommend it to all Strad users and anyone interested in music in general. Not that you will learn any technique from it, etc. - just that it's nice to have a bit of the background history behind these legendary instruments.
