The deadline approaches....

detalis in THIS THREAD (http://northernsounds.com/forum/showthread.php?t=43044)

it was set for THIS SUNDAY March 26

do we need a short extension?

My server logs tell me at least 20 of you have downloaded the theme... I've received very few submissions as yet

I would think with all of the starving musicians out there, folks would JUMP at the chance for an extra $100 LOL:D:D

How many variations should we do? As many as I think of? :)

That detail was in the previous thread, but here it is again for those who might have missed it:

You may submit up to THREE (3) variations

;) :)

I would suggest a bit of an extension, Jonathan, certainly.

The initial post on this competition fell during one of those somewhat slow periods during the forum's "weather" -- it would seem to me only fair to extend the deadline somewhat, to give as many forum members as possible an opportunity to participate.

My best,

Yuppers!

Gary has kicked in another hundred bucks: see HERE (http://northernsounds.com/forum/showthread.php?t=43044&page=3).

heh...

Ok,

Thanks, Gary and et Lux.... you're both very generous!

Now, to be fair to all (and now that the stakes are raised!) I'm extending this until April 16....

For those who've already submitted, if you get inspired and find that you come up with a NEW variation that you think is better, you may retract one (that's assuming you've used up your 3!)

Just for fun, I'll post some of these for you all to hear - perhaps that will also get the "juices" flowing

Hmm ... read that just today ... and I would join in. Even did a quick sketch and have some ideas.

But the memory of the youthful days when I was standing on the empore watching our local organ hero is a little dusty. How would one notate a register change? Notate it in different systems? Use these circle-like marks for a change within one system? Any hint here?

Just notate the change in the score where you want it - 3 staves, 2 for manuals 1 for pedal

as long as I can understand what you want, it's no problem - I'll likely re-score to make them all work well together anyway.

Just a quick update, folks....

I've received a number of submissions so far, and I must say the range of creativity seen so far is nothing short of amazing!

You will be making my job very difficult, for sure!:D :D

Best,
