This is simply awesome. It's actually from 1989, a couple of years after Sakamoto got the Academy Award for best score (Last Emperor).

I'll have to listen to this. It made me think of the film though, which I haven't seen in years. I first saw it many years ago and now I think I'll try to find it on DVD.

OT: Have you seen the film representation of Raise the Red Lantern? I read the novella some months back and loved it (although it is a rather sad story in parts.)
