View Full Version : Make Cakewalk and Gigastudio play audio simultanously

My sound card: Terratec EWS88 MT 8 Audio in/out.
Sequencer: Cakewalk 9.03 Pro Audio
GigaStudio 96 (Vers. 2.0)
When GS is installed, 2 GS output midi drivers become visible. I gues I have to use one of them as output from Cakewalk to make GS say something.
When I make one of these GS-midi-drivers active in CW, CW will not play its audio. I get a very loud helicopter-like noise!!??
If I want to hear both Cakewalk and GigaStudio\'s audio output, how do I connect CW to GS? Is the audio signal from GS supposed to be ruted to CW or what.
Do I have to start CW thru the button in GS or does this not work! Could anyone please give an example of a working setup.
Regards

I had the same symptoms when I started using my new audio card. Make sure that your card is a multi-client card. If it is, try different combinations of output assignments for Cakewalk and Giga audio outputs.

It doesn\'t look like your problem is related to MIDI.

Dear christopher

How do you have your multi card set up in Gigasampler and Cakewalk???

Please explain the way you set up your in/out drivers in Cakewalk and Giga. I am not getting any sound when recording from Cakewalk.

Thanks
dafrica.

What soundcard do you have????

This my setup:
Asus CUBX motherboard with Celeron 566 non overclocked; 256 Mb RAM.
Maxtor 20Gb IDE disk (7,200 rpm)
Cakewalk 9.03
GigaSampler 1.6 (I have GigaStudio but not using it yet - waiting for stable version)
WamiRack 24; Cakewalk on outputs 1,2,3,4; Giga on outputs 5,6.

MIDI: I use MIDI yoke in order to make Cakewalk drive Giga (see http://members.xoom.com/MIDIOX/index.htm). (\"http://members.xoom.com/MIDIOX/index.htm).\")
I start Cakewalk and Giga independently. Starting one or the other first does not make a difference.

as far as I know the Terratec is not yet multi client competent.
It\'s either ASIO with Sequencer _OR_ GSIF with Gigastudio.
See also the Nemesys GSIF web page.
