What\'s a good low priced Sound Card for Giga. I am interested in a simple Sound Card which has one or two analog in and one analog out. I am not interested in digital outs, maybe 2 if there are any.
But I am looking for good sound quality.

I\'m using the Echoaudio Darla24. It\'s simple, pretty inexpensive, and sounds great.

There\'s many inexpensive Giga compatible soundcards with 2 Analog in/out.
I have Delta Dio 2496 myself, and it works very well. Even better would be new M-Audio
Audiophile. Newcomer by Echo Audio is MIA!
It\'s very interesting card and should suit
very well for you. Also, Terratec have new
card: EWX 24/96!

I plan to buy the Echo MIA, because of good drivers and +4dBu inputs.

I\'m using the Hoontech DSP24 card with the ADC-DAC 2000 box. An incredibly cheap card with a fantastic sound.

Yowza:
This seems like a fairly active thread with lots of folks getting decent results for giga.
Would anyone mind doing a cut-and-paste job on this survey and posting it? I would greatly appreciate it.
the survey is:
---------------------------------------
-processor (ie PII, PIII, Athalon, etc.)
-chipset (ie BX, Via kt-133 )
-motherboard
-ram
-hard drive(s) (use SCSI?)
-sound card(s)
-standalone use?
-video processor/card/settings
-BIOS settings (i.e. - turning off USB, -memory latency, etc.)
-Midi Input Card
-other processors
-recording system - hardware/software
-sequencing system - hardware/software
-polyphony (# voices achieved)
-click/pops? sometimes?
-sound quality (1-10) -other problems/comments
-midi performance (built in/stand alone/win 2k ect.)
---------------------------------
THIS would help out the bottom dwelling scum like me trying to figure out what system to get BEFORE I shell out the pesetas.
Thanks&Regards,
jk
PS if you want to see how the survey was born, check out the thread \"AND OUR SURVEY SAYS\". Or maybe you already checked it out (I have a knack for coining obnoxious thread names). In any case, please spill your guts http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/tongue.gif
PPS: if something doesn\'t make sense to you or youre not sure of the answer, or you just don\'t feel like digging out that information from your box, just leave it out...m\'Kay?
