Hi everyone,
How would I go about this? I have a dual 1.25 G4 with 2GB Ram running Logic (and Pro Tools, but that's not for V.I.'s), and am about to get another G4 (exactly the same spec).

This is ostensibly as a back up machine, but i was thinking i should be able to use one Mac for the program (Logic), and use the other purely for my V.I.'s (DFHS, BFD, EWQLSO Gold, EWQLSC and quite a number of others).

Can anyone help me with how this works? (I assume it can be done, as people are often talking about dedicating one computer to samples etc...)
Many thanks,
Paul

I use V-Stack on a second Mac.

No network voodoo, just a little midi interface with 4 or 8 ports, thats it.

....and please let us know if it works!
I don't know what the restrictions are on the demo but I'm planning to use this when I get a new Mac.

I think OS 10.4 allows sending MIDI and Audio via Network....!!

What I use for linking Macs & PCs is MIDI over LAN. It's very good, but not so cheap:

Another possibility for the second machine would be Native Instruments Kore
Yes, but V-Stack is only 60$ and on a G4 you don't need an update.
OK, on an Intel Mac it won't work.
