Corpse Bride "music only" DVD feature

I just finished watching Corpse Bride (netflix rental), which had some great music (good old Danny Elfman). I was quite thrilled when I was flipping through the special features and noticed one feature called "music only track" ... you can watch the entire movie with just the music! :eek: WOOHOO!! I will buy the DVD just for that. :o I would imagine this is one of the best ways not only to enjoy the music without sound effects, voices, etc., but also of course study film scoring. I have never seen this feature before, but I wish and hope many more DVDs will have this feature; it made my day. :) :|: WOOHOO!!

more of it.

Half the movies out there are only worth it for the music,
anyway.

I've noticed this "music only" feature on two of my favourite DVDs - Superman (the first Richard Donner version) and Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within (with a tremendous score by Elliot Goldenthal).

Contrary to David, however, I feel that half the movies out there would be much better off without their music! ... hey wait! that makes for both halves! so I guess we're spot on!

Ah-hah! The solution emerges... simplicity itself!

We must simply take the good music from the lousy movies
and put it with the good movies... and take the lousy music
from the good movies and put it with the lousy movies.

Now, see, next, we take the movies with lousy dialogue and
put it with the movies with lousy music, and take the dialogue
from the really good movies, and put that with the movies
that have really good music.

And there's the cinematography -- same deal, put the cool
film work and special effects with the movies with the good
music and, now that we've added the good dialogue to the
movies with the good music, we've got a sure-fire hit on
our hands!

I'm really surprised Hollywood hasn't yet discovered this
simple formula...
