Hi Folks,
Here is a work I did with a fabulous and talented soprano : Annemarie Borg (http://annemarieborg.com/)
So the main goal was to have fun with this, we made something that could be seen and heard in a Burton's or Disney's animated movie where caracters sing and dance :)
So stop speaking, here is the music called "A Merry Dance", It is about a Witch preparing a potion that make children laugh be happy and have fun !

A merry dance
Down in the valley, a village is asleep!
Bathed in moonlight there runs a pearly stream…
But see the farmer, see the butcher, see the baker and his wife,
They all take life too seriously!
Early in the morning they drag the kids to school!
So speaks the father: "my son will be no fool!"
But often in the night, the children start to cry.
Peter, Cathy, Paul and Anne,
"Why dear children, why so glum?"
“This goes against the code of witches and wizardry!”
We believe in laughter and children should be happy!
I’m the witch of morning dew and this is what I do:
Eye of a newt, a tooth of a troll,
A hair on the neck of a golden hyena...
Sing dear cauldron sing…
Fumes of this secret potion float on a magic wing!
“Giggle, wriggle, throw your sting!
Cackle, rattle, now begin!
Round and round the children find!
Let the laughter seek and bind!
Mingle, jingle, cauldron boil!
Now will the merry dance begin!
Let the children start to grin!
I shall set them free!
Open the windows and night will come in
Breathe deeply children! The fun will begin!
Soothing your sorrow and fusing a light!
Making each morning challenge each night!
Chasing the sadness right out of sight!
Shush! YES!
Hear how the children laugh!
Oh! What a witch am I!
I did it!
Now life is dawning, laugh every morning!
No one can ever stop you! This is your only chance!
No one will ever mock you! Come to this merry dance! Dance! Dance!
