Don't buy the Terratec EWX 24/96 - Buy the Audiophile!

I spent a wasted week trying to get the Terratec EWX 24/96 to work with Gigastudio 160. Couldn\'t get rid of the pops/crackles even though I used the latest drivers. I lost it altogether when I upgraded Gigasampler but I have since seen a post regarding this.And all this with a totally clean install of Win98SE.

I exchanged it for the Audiophile 24/96 which installed like a dream first time (again - latest drivers)and it sounds fantastic. Here in the UK it is slightly more expensive at 179GBP than the Terratec but worth every penny!

I bet you will get a reply of some of
these terratec guys who use this
board to do their plump advertising by giving
you just some \"information\" about new beta drivers and so on. I owned a EWX 24/96 but sold it recently. This junk never produced a
Gigastudio sound without crackles and pops!
No way to get this thing running with Cubase
and Gigastudio either.

Just picked up a 2496 and installed it on a dedicated Giga machine. Have latency and note slurring problems. Did you have to tweak anything in the 2496 console to get it to work well or did it work right out of the box.
