This day celebrates the Fortune Cookie. What a terrific little cookie. A little slip of paper inside of it that gives you a message.

It's fortunate you brought this up.:p I am the brunt of my family's fortune cookie humor because I have never been the beneficiary of the cookie that bears good fortune. Well, it just so happens that I drew my final straw as far as fotune cookies are concerned.

No kidding, I dined at a favorite chinese restaurant just last night and this was my fortune:

"Promote literacy. Buy a box of fortune cookies."

My husband said that I now have the authority to decline any future offers of fortune cookies.

I have a favorite fortune that I keep taped to the top of my video monitor. It says simply "It tastes sweet." It makes me smile to see it there.
