I have a Roland Studio Package which has a digital mixer and a PCI card to connect it to the computer. I don\'t need a card for recording purpose, I need a card which I can use for GigaStudio 160 and which will give me very good quality sound (output). Please tell which sound card gives best quality output.

Any card with digital out should have the same quality.

not quite since the stability/quality of the clock is VERY important, so it depends on the clock you use as master within your digital signal path.

So which one should I get?
You can\'t go wrong with : echo, aardvark, RME. In fact the availability and quality of the drivers is equaly important.

One more thing I need to be able to do is have as many as MIDI channels as possible. I would be using Gigastudio 160 and it provides 64 channels of MIDI, right? Does it depend on the sound card or I would just need to have more MIDI ports.
you can have a separate midibox (have a look at ùidiman) or go for the Egosys wamirack, which has lots of midi included.
