How to turn off Hardware Wizard?

I just bought a PC from a friend and reinstalled XP. I unistalled the Raid and Multimedia controllers in the Device Manager but everytime I start, the Found New Hardware Wizard shows up wanting to install software.

How can I shut this off so I don't have to deal with it everytime I start up?

You would have to shut off those onboard components in the bios...
That would stop the hardware manager.

Windows is set to detect new hardware when it is installed by default. This is how plug and play works.

You should 'disable' the device in Device Manager instead of uninstalling it. Windows won't try to detect it the next time as it's already in the system but disabled.
