Here's an interesting article in the New York Times about new methods of constructing violins - very interesting.

Thanks for the tip! The link worked just fine.

Very interesting, I think as a pure amateur in these matters.

As I've understood it, in the Garritan Strad, IRs are responsible for replicating the sound and response of the body itself. How about some new IRs from carefully picked balsa/carbon fibre prototypes to marry bleeding edge technology with the venerable Strad?:cool:
