The GPO Christmas Album is the 3nd annual collaborative effort of the GPO community and was put together in the spirit of giving for the holiday. A site with this year's GPO Christmas Album and last year's album is also up. There you can download the individual MP3's and the cover art and CD label. We are also replicating a limited number of compact discs.

If any of you would like to request a free compact disc of the album, please let me know and also send me an email (my PM gets filled often) with your mailing address or send a self-addressed stamped envelop to me at Box 400, Orcas, WA 98280 USA.

Here's the link to the Christmas page:

Thanks to all who contributed and submitted songs for this project. You all did a fantastic job. And a special thanks to Santa Dan Kury (DPDan) for all his magnificent work putting this all together. Thanks to Wheat Williams for helping with liner notes. And thanks PapaChalk for making it possible to embed this player in the forum.

This album is special because it was made forum members comprised of musicians from all walks of life - young and old, of different countries and languages, from differing skill levels and training, and from varying backgrounds and musical tastes - but all united in making this special collection so that people like you can benefit.

I plan to spend Christmas morning listening to this album while unwrapping presents and sharing the music and the holidays with family and friends.

This music will spread much joy this holiday season.

Merry Christmas!

Gary Garritan

I downloaded the mp3s, and i noted that the TAG info only says "Track xx" and under "composer" the title is displayed. We have recently added complete ID3 tags to the MP3 files and they are now available on the download page.

I added the tags in iTunes 7 on Macintosh. If your MP3 player cannot recognize the tags, or if there are other anomalies, please contact me.

Gary I get an error when trying to download track 14.

It could be somethign to do with having changed the title from "...in the manger" to "..in a manger" ?

Hi Gary et al,

The player is still not working for me. Am I the only one? (I just get a big white rectangle with the text "Click on Play Button below to Play from the Score" above it. There's no Play button or anything).
I have downloaded the mp3s OK .

I need a favor from some of you....
please listen to the flash player of the Garritan Christmas and let me know what the exact pitch of the first note of Joy To The World is, also does Jack Cannon's "Remember O Thou Man" play for you.

Thanks,
Dan :)

Hi Dan:

Mine played really well the other day when the CD Player was posted. It doesn't play now from the PLAYER. It does, however, play from the list posted under the player.

I think it has to do with with changing of the last word in the title from "Art" to "man." Maybe the flash media is confused. I know I am, because I can hear all other 17 carols but mine............Hey, am I different or what? LOL

Seems like my carol, "Remember, O Thou Man" is playing now on the Christmas page in the PLAYER. For those responsible for its reappearance, please accept my deepest thanks. Really, I really appreciate the time it took to make this possible.

Merry Christmas to you all and thank you, Gary, for such a great Christmas CD. I'll bet other libraries are envious of our community effort. Makes me feel warm all over........

Jack
