Any recommendations here. Probably should be able to raise 'seat' (where top of seat measures to the floor) to 24-25"
Thanks for any recommedations you may have.:)

Rob,
man between here and VI sounds like you building something new studio!
In regards to chairs, just about every studio I'm in has Herman Miller Aeon. They are expensive (for my furniture budget) around $750-$1200.
I actually got a Herman Miller, but another model that had some of the same adjustments as the Aeon but cheaper. It's called the Reaction.
So it does the same stuff, cheaper, BUT looks like any other dull office chairs[URL="http://www.hermanmiller.com/CDA/SSA/Product/1,1592,a10-c440-p146,00.html"l[/URL]

The Aeron chair is fantastic. I have one in my office at work and one in my home studio. I used to have lower back pain after hours of sitting in other "ergonomic" chairs, but the Aeron is so adjustable (and comes in 3 sizes) that I can sit all day and never think about the chair. The back and seat are a ventilated Pellical material that distributes weight perfectly and keeps your butt and back cool. Well worth the money it costs.

Thanks again guys - the Human scale chair has a 'high cylinder' that should be perfect (ordered it with the gel seat as well.)
Should be here in about 2-3 weeks. I'll let everyone know how it worked out.

I have had the pleasure of using an Aeron in an office job I had before going pro. They really are excellent and comfortable especially for those with back problems as I have.
Here in the uk they are or were about £1000 Sterling!
If you have the money then this is the best idea or go to a specialist back support sales room as they also sometimes have a good range of chairs for correct posture.
I hope that helps in some way

They look great, but the reality is, most of my day is not sitting back in the chair where all the amenities would help. I'm alway leaning forward to play, see the monitor better, reach for whatever, etc. So for the most part, unless I'm leaning back listening to a mix (and you know how many hours away that is), I'd get little out of it. Which is good, because it's one less thing to buy;)

The best thing I've done for my butt in a very long time was to get a Tempurpedic chair cushion for $100 usd.
Like Tom Hartman, I'm moving around a lot playing the keyboard and then turning to the computer and then doing something else, so a chair with armrests is a hindurance for me, whereas the Tempurpedic cushion really, really helps plus it was a reasonable price.
