This is very good news. I've been kicking myself since last fall for missing your group buy special then, and I'm not going to make the same mistake twice.

I should probably wait until my next paycheck to actually sign up, but I'm most definitely in.

Thanks for doing this again!

I skipped this last time, because I already have a fair collection of guitar samples, and I've spent so much money on samples in the last year (many of which I'll seldom use), I was trying to cut back (also, waiting until I could pay down my credit cards). But if the price comes down some, I think I'll jump in this time. This is a great library, and one I should own, since I would use it often.

Is there any difference between this group buy and the last one?

Akihito you're KILLING ME!! :)

Anyone who's at all interested in an electric guitar library and hasn't picked up the LPC yet, it is a MUST BUY! Especially at the group buy price..

Not only does it have a very extensive articulation list, but the sound is great.. pure Les Paul. I have a real Les Paul Special and if I run the LPC Clean through the same processors as the real Les Paul they sound the same.

And don't let the huge patch list scare you.. you can make very realistic guitar tracks with just one or two patches, and with stacking instruments you can have a lot of articulations ready to go in real time at your fingertips. It's awesome!

We are really glad you enjoy LPC.

The great thing about GS3's stacking instrument feature is that you can customize a stack instrument (.gsi) very easily. Adding / removing a instruments as needed, and assigning key switches / a controller can be done with a simple process. I'd like to encourage the GIGA version users to make full use of the stacking instrument feature. In addition, you can include a GigaPulse setting with the .gsi if you'd like. (Larry Seyer's Acoustic Drum is a great example of using the stacking instrument feature.)

By the way,
we'll release some new multies (.nkm) for Kontakt2 soon, we hope the K2 version users enjoy them.

Looks cool! I have a question though.

I'm on Logic 7 running EXS and Kontakt 2. I prefer to have most of my libs in EXS format due to the great convenience and optimization of resources, though I do use Kontakt 2 when necessary.

Anyone have any experience transferring the LPC Guitars to EXS? Is there any programing that can only be utilized in Kontakt 2 or giga?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello JT3_Jon,

As LPC includes Giga2.0 format files, you can import them into EXS, but you'll miss some important features such as LPC's Realtime legato instruments because Real time legato make use of the Giga3's Legato mode, and Kontakt2's scripting feature.
You'll also lose the 'big' articulations which include a large number of samples, dimensions(groups), key swicthes and controllers.

You own Kontakt2, you can make full use of LPC without working hard to convert and tweak the huge number of the all the articulations.

Hello Akihito,
I hope you'll get as many buys as possible !
Unfortunately, I cannot be one of them, since I already am the happy owner/user of your 2 libs, LPC and PCP...
But I just wanted to publicly share my satisfaction of being one of your customers....
----
You're not only a highly skillful sample designer (LPC is IMO simply the BEST electric guitar lib available, and PCP has no equivalent), but you're also a very friendly and responsive individual, who always replies fast and warmly.
And more, you're very generous : I just received the kontakt version of LPC that you were so kind to send me for free (while many other developers significantly charge a xgrade version), just because I purchased the lib when it was only GS format.
So, many thanks Akihito !
---
Just one more word toward potentials buyers :
if you are out for a tremendous electric guitar sample library, or for a good electro-acoustic piano, (or of course for both) do yourself a BIG favor : join this group buy !

Hello Akihito

Forgive my ignorance on this subject - but do I need to get Kontack 2 to run this on - and when you load this library (guitars) into K2 - does all the script automatically get loaded in with it?

Many thanks

PR

Akihito Okawa

Hello PaulR,

Yes, Kontakt2 is required.
The scripts are included in the .nkm (multi) / .nki (instrument) files, and they are loaded automatically when you load the .nkm / .nki files.

I hope this answers your questions.

I have a question - I ordered LPC, so I'm on the list. If I go back and order the piano, does that add to the total count of the group buys or is it added to my first order?

Thanks..

We are sorry for the delay in posting them.

We add some improvements to the multi and they are finished and are ready to go, but we are working on the manual for them. They will be released tomorrow or at the latest the day after tomorrow.

Akihito,
I don't think I saw the sys requirements for Mac on your site. Did I miss something?

Hello MotuHari,

Basically the system requirements for Mac is the same as the one for Kontakt2 except RAM size.

------ quote from Kontakt2 system requirements on NI's website -------

Mac OS 10.2.6, G4 800 MHz, 512 MB RAM

(Recommended System)
Mac OS 10.3.x or higher, G5 1.8 GHz, 1 GB RAM

------------------------------------------------------------

1GB (1.5GB or greater recommended) is required to use LPC.

I hope this answers your question.

Hello,

Being a student with limited resources, I'm still on the fence with this deal (I know I'm nuts if I miss it, but I have to prioritize :) My next personal project is to create some great progressive rock music, thus I will be in the market for some great guitar samples, and hearing all the wonderful demos have really turned me on to the possibilities with this library.

I have a few questions though. First of all, do you have any "dropped tuning" power chords for todays rock rhythm guitar? Also, how difficult is it to produce these guitar parts in "real life?" I've seen your .mov file and it looks very easy, however I'd like some feedback from users if at all possible. Does it take allot of computer resources? Is it fairly easy to program and tweak? Is it one of those libs that you must put down a rough idea first using a simple patch, and then go back and change articulations, etc due to its complexity?

Also, I plan on getting the clean guitar sounds and running them through a combination of Logics Guitar Amp and my brothers external POD unit. Should I be able to achieve good results for Prog Rock music using these amp simulators and the clean lib? I've heard what was done on the clean demos with Guitar Rig, and was wondering if something similar can be achieved with tools I already own.

Sorry for all the questions! Even with the deal this is a bit of an investment for me. I thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Hello,

LPC doesn't have any dropped tuning samples, but please check out this;

Mr. MOSQUITO (http://www.prominy-ss.com/demo/LPC/Mr_Mosquito.mp3)
All the instruments were tuned down to -2 semitones to simulate drop D tuning.

and one more;
(sorry for the rough demo, it was a few minutes-job.).
http://www.prominy.com/etc/Low_C_test.mp3
All the instruments were tuned down to -4 semitones to simulate drop C tuning.

Also, I plan on getting the clean guitar sounds and running them through a combination of Logics Guitar Amp and my brothers external POD unit. Should I be able to achieve good results for Prog Rock music using these amp simulators and the clean lib? I used POD XT on some demos.
POD works very fine with LPC.
(For details; http://www.prominy.com/LPC_demos.htm)

I hope this helps.

Kontakt1.5 can not load a .nki /.nkm file which was saved with Kontakt2.
And as the multi uses Kontakt2's script processor, the multi can not be reproduced with Kontakt1.5.

Though I do own Kontakt 2, I'm not sure my PC is quite robust enough for making full use of LPC. But like you, I'm planning ahead. When I get my super-duper dual core whatever down the road, I'll already have the library.

And yes, the video is nothing short of mind blowing. This GB got off to a bit of a slow start, and I think the video really helped jump start it.
