Hi folks!
I\'m dying to become involved with Gigastudio but my new PC - Sony VAIO - does not have a soundcard per se - it has the on-board SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio system from Analog Devices.

Has anyone tried this? I\'d hate to buy the s/w and not have it work - or worse - add a sound card to a new Sony PC.

Yes I\'ve contacted Sony and they were NO help whatsoever.

Thanks, gang!

Assuming you VAIO comes with XP, no. This would be true of the default sound card of any PC. If you had Win98, and there was a DirectSound driver for the integrated audio, then the answer would be yes.

You can, of course add a \"real\" sound card, which you\'d want to do for any serious audio work with any software.

Being from Sony, and being called SoundMAX doesn\'t mean it\'s any good...
