Can we have an EXS24 group in the Software Sampler forum?

I'll second that request...

Well we have a piano forum now, we might as well have an EXS24 section too.;)
Seriously, I'm on Pc, but i think it's a good idea...

I'd like it, but wonder if all these "subforums" are a good idea. Too much subdividing can kill a successful forum. At the same time having a place dedicated to EXS would be any easier way to search topics. Its a catch 22.

Yep, the piano forum is a nice idea... but i see it a little frozen.

Well, if there is a Halion subforum I see no reason for there not to be an EXS one. I would love to see this.

It would be great. Exs has an enormous amount of support -it's simply so useful for any Logic user.
Compared to *any* VI format, bar none, exs24 wins by a mile for user-friendliness. I have Kontakt2 & loads of VI's, but exs24 is my tool of choice for fast access and easy editing. Not bad for a format which has stayed popular despite the last update being some years back. When Redmatica's Keymap is finally ready there'll be a big jump in exs24's potential, too. Not to forget that exs24 is actually the basis for Garage Band's software instruments. All in all, that's a huge user base.

How many people do you need to express interest to do it? Because of the worldwide popularity of Logic and the opinion of many that Halion is, well, less than distinguished, my guess is that there are more EXS24 users here than Halion users. Am I wrong about this?

I use both EXS24 and Kontakt.
I really like using EXS24, it is a great sampler with good features, I don't have Halion, how well does it work in Logic?
I would also like to see a Forum for it as that way the main forum would not be choked with lots of posts regarding its use.

Wow, am I missing something here on this forum? I don't see a Software Sampler forum area although I do remember seeing it a couple months ago. I access this forum from a few different computers and none of them have a Software Sampler forum area.

Haydn, all the software sampler forums have been placed in a subforum called "software samplers." Here is the direct link: http://www.northernsounds.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=35
I do agree with the points made that there should be more users of EXS than Halion, and if Halion gets a forum, we should too. Its just not fair!! I'm going to tell my mom...MOM!!! :)

I bought Halion- a couple of years back- and gave up on it. Steinberg products don't seem to be happy on the Mac platform, it was highly unstable for me. Maybe the updates work better now, but life is too short for all that fiddling around. A pity, because they have some good-sounding products.
Exs24 *never* crashes Logic, but many VIs (especially the Kompakt Players) often do. Just one more reason to trumpet the virtues of exs24 (for Logic users, of course).

Thanks for the link to the Software Sampler forum which works when I go to the link. Why doesn't it appear though from the main forum? There appears to be another forum which I get access denied on between Northern Sound Source and Software Samplers. See below:
Northern Sound Source > Sample Formats > Software Samplers
When I click on Sample Formats I get the access denied message. How is everyone else getting to the Software Samplers forum?

Why do I feel that if some of the more high profile developers here developed for the EXS24, like Gary, this would already have happened.

It's sad, but it's probably true... But if there can be a Halion sub forum (honestly, who uses Halion anymore?) which has had about 10 topics posted in in the last 6 months then I see no reason why we can't have a EXS24 forum. Not like it's going to hurt anyone.

Yes, please, on an EXS24 group in the Software Sampler forum.
(and maybe a tweak of the forum homepage: Piano Forum as a sub-forum in Sample Libs; Microsoft Audio, Game Audio and Hardware together [Audio?]; and Notation/Sequencing, MIDI Programming and Scripts, and Reverb/Impulse together [Programming?]. Reduce the likelihood of someone missing a forum through closer association, and the scrolling/headache of the forum homepage's 14 categories?)

Added some tips which have made my EXS experience much more enjoyable. THANK YOU MODS for the sub-forum, as it should make compiling/searching for exs topics much easier!
