I'm confused.

I'm on the verge of building a new PC. I can get XP Pro OEM (or XP Pro x64) for £79 with a free express upgrade token to Vista Business.

As I understand it Vista as new in retail box comes with both x32 and x64 versions.

It would seem that the express upgrade route is a download upgrade only?

I want to be sure that I can upgrade to both x32 and x64.

If I go express upgrade can I only upgrade x32 to x32 or x64 to x64?

What i want to be able to do is buy the XP Pro (x32) and then upgrade to both vista x32 & x64 on seperate partitions.

Does this make sense?

Does any one know if i can do this?

I am right in thinking I can run either x32 or x64 if i have each on seperate partitions?

Forgive my obvioulsy hobbyist questions

You can only upgrade from 32 -> 32. 32->64 and 64->64 are not supported.

You can buy the oem of which ever version you need.

newwegg.com has them, and just purchase a hard drive and youll be good.

Drives are cheap right now, and the sizes are just getting bigger, so stock up.:)
