Hi!

Gary, I read in some thread, that you said you would've maybe had some free tickets to NAMM, if someone asked in time. (I hope I remember correctly..)

I know I'm a bit early, but I'd like to ask, if there are some free tickets to Musikmesse too? I'd really want to go there for the first time and I bet it's expensive.

If there are any free tickets or discounts, I'm in!!! :samurai:

I'll see what I can do. Email me with your real name, unless George W Karvasika is your real name :D. Thanks for letting me know well in advance. ;)

A footnote to this thread: Frankfurt would be a good time to sample a genuine German clarinet for GPOA. Their tone is darker, mellower and "bigger" than the French clarinets we usually hear (Buffet, Selmer, LeBlanc). Having both tonal options would be great!

And also a perfect time to sample German bratwurst for GPOA! )(~ Their tone is much better than any other sausage!

With modwheel controlled authentic BBQ wurst fat falling "sishhh" sounds

Yea that could just work!!!

You could also use the Sonic Morphing to add vibra to the "tshhh" in real time and use some midi CC to control the amount of eating sounds in the sample. :wow:

And also a perfect time to sample German bratwurst for GPOA! I'm certain there will be a lot of audio engineers sampling the German beer as well.

Introducing the new "Garritan Oktoberfest"

CC 33 - control the merry shouting of drunk German people
CC 34 - add the sound of filling a beer can with random interval
CC 35 - random sounds of vomiting
CC 36 - the amount of convolution reverb, simulating the ambience of indoor-german-bar/outdoor-street
CC 37 - volume level of the music at the background, the local tune "Chicken dance"

Introducing the new "Garritan Oktoberfest"I think there should be reverb convolution profiles of the great German beer halls, listed by name, like the München Hofbräuhaus (http://www.hofbraeuhaus.de/en/01/hist_anfang_en.html). And the sounds of kegs being tapped. And lots of vocal samples of typical German toasts and snippets of drinking songs by a male chorus.

Coming Next Year: the Garritan American College Fraternity Party Sound Library.

Ein Prosit der Gemütlichkeit!

I dunno.
The New Zealand grass-fed-home-made beef sausage has some very nice tone color. (Golden brown) ;)

Some guys want to go there. Don't know where they all come from, but I noticed some eager "to be there". Me also and I live quite nearby Frankfurt (350 miles). By train from The Hague it is just about 4 1/2 hours and it costs me € 78,- return ticket.

The ticket cost : one day only just about € 20,- and for the whole event € 40,- . All reasonable prices, though?

Then I looked at the hotel prices and found out that the nearby hotels (IBIS) normally charge for a weekday between €59,- and €79,-. [B]During the "Messe" they charge you from €149,- up to €199,- per night.

For the dollars calculate that with the factor 1.3.

I decided NOT to go, these hotel prices are just fraud (IMHO).

Raymond, I understood the Musikmesse is open for public ONLY on Saturday. So you actually need a ticket for Saturday only and if you take the train early in the morning and leave after the event, you don't need any hotels.

Please correct me, if I'm wrong?

Could you even believe that this german here does not like (and therefore never drinks) beer? :D :)

Karvasika, that I didn't know. Looking at some other entries at their site I found out that you are right.

For a visit of any length I have to leave at 05:25 by train, arrival Frankfurt 10:41 (strangely enough it takes 1/2 hour longer, as if Frankfurt was shifted a bit further into Germany early in the morning) . The return is at 19:10 arrival at The Hague 23:55. The problem is that no public transport is available early in the morning [parking is out of the question and my wife doesn't drive a car].

Total travel time: 10 hours!! on one day. I must think about that.

Hi Johannes,

glad that I happened to read your post - it is so easy to overlook something .. :wow:

I will probably not be in Frankfurt. I still did not really understand which sort of information I can get there that I cannot read on the monitor in front of me :D. The thing I would be most interested at the moment would be GOS2, and before it is not available, it is not availabe ... :) .
