- same bass line and harmony as the original
- triplet rhythmic figures as in the original
- each instrument should have a somewhat interesting part to play

Neither transcribing the notes literally as is, nor putting in a string pad is enough ...

There are many possible solutions, and when you hear/see some of the ones coming up, you may be surprised. And you will understand them better - good points and bad - the more you have grappled with your own versions.

So can we use Pizz Strings for example, the bass line? For some reason I thought we could only use just violins 1 and 2, Viola, Cello, and bass. I was probably thinking too much to make sure I was following directions. :o

Yes, any and all string instruments in the orchestra are available. :-)
