Appassionata versus String Essentials

I'm curious if anyone has any opinions on the relative merits of the Vienna Appassionata Strings versus Peter Siedlaczek's String Essentials.

(I've listened to the demos, but I'm more interested in a practical-usability standpoint.)

Isn't the Siedlaczek repackaged older material? The Orchestral Colors was really loops. I would say the Appassionata is more useable since it uses the advanced VSL interface. It is decidedly for a big string sound.
