Here's an interesting roundup of music notation challenges (http://thrillingwonder.blogspot.com/2007/02/we-dare-you-to-play-these-scores.html).

And I thought Zappa's "Black Page" was difficult.

So, can your favorite computer notation program replicate any of these?

Glad to see these are still around. A neighbor of ours has had some of these framed and on her wall for years now, and whenever we visit I have to stop and look at them for a while.

I should get my own, but I don't want to copy her decorating ideas!

(edit: Zdenko Fibich is a real composer, by the way, and one well worth investigating.)

I have that same thing framed. It has been hanging in the studio for ages, it is hilarious and always gets loads of laughs.

Wow! I don't think I have ever enjoyed a piece of music so much without hearing it! ~|

These pieces are like little children.

They should be seen, not heard

I should ask rights on "how to please Elisa", the method I still use successfully...not only "on" Elisa...(yeah, pianists have some finger agility...):p

The funny thing is that: scores like those should not be funny if some real work didn't try the way (look at Bussotti works: he (Sylvano) seems to be serious... but i know he is not...:p )...crazy ridiculous avanguarde! They just killed educated music...

Anyway: YES. My notation program can do all of that scores. But the cost for the job is very, very huge. Be prepapred to pay a lot...:)
