View Full Version : New "Little Tribute to John Williams" Screaming Trumpet demo
Jeff Steinman

Hi everybody,
I just posted another "Screaming Trumpet" demo created by Jacques Mathias. This time, I asked Jacques to create a big orchestral "John Williams" style piece. The goal was to capture the sound of a big budget Hollywood soundtrack.
Here is the link.

I've received quite a few questions from people on the legato patches in the Screaming Trumpet library. Jacques used the SIPS legato scripts throughout the composition.
I hope you like it,
Jeff Steinman

Smile,
as I assumed, east west, but I thought the Platinum, cause there is not much reverb?

Yep. I guess it is always a matter of taste. :) I always do 2 or 3 mixes. Some very dry...other very wet. Things i bring from my time as an engineer. After that, i show people i trust and got their opinion. After that i choose the best mix not because it is very dry or wet, but the mix that better fits the song's mood. For this piece all my "dry as desert" mixes were horrible. I particularly enjoy dry mixes. But this one didn't work for my goal. Hopefully it is still audible.
Thanks for listening!
Jacques.

Hello, your demos of the Jazz strings arrangement are AWESOME !
you did that with the VSL library of Kontakt2 or you did that with the Real VSL library ?
are you a real drummer, or the BFD tracks on your rock song are programming aswell !? very impressive !

Hy Marty! Thanks for taking your time to listen my stuff.
Those strings arrangements were recorded by real players. :) There is no samples in there. It was a 4-4-2-2-1 ensemble with one overdub.
I am not a drummer. My father used to play when i was a little boy. But i can't actually play a simple groove on drums, although i can imagine and write them, I guess i got it from him. Those are my demos done for BFD. I am glad you like them as well. Do you own Screaming Trumpet?
Thanks,
Cheers!
