Hi,
I am sure it is a stupid question but did not find a solution or a dedicated passage how to set up the Kontakt 2 player in Reaper.
What I tried:
I did set up one instance of the Kontakt 2 player with 16 instruments in it. Each instrument listens to a different midi channel (defined in the Kontakt player window). The Kontakt player itself sits in an extra track as an effect, let us call it Track #5.
Now I create a new track (#6) and arm it to receive midi on all channels (I can see it does get the signal from my keyboard). In the I/O menu I send the signal to Track #5 and convert Midi: All ==> MIDI Channel 1. Now I can play the first instrument, so far so good.
But then the problem begins: With the next track (#7) routed to track #5 and MIDI: All ==> MIDI Channel 2 the second instrument in my stack does not play. For verifying I can change the midi input there to channel 1 and then it can be played from track #6. But on channel 2 from track #7 - no go.
Please help, any hint is very welcome.
