Oh, my God!

How did this happen. Do you all realize I am...

55!

I'm ANCIENT. (Though I do have underwear older than that.)

Seriously, my friends, I never imagined that at 55 I would
have such a huge, wonderful family as all of you.

Thank you, each and every one of you, for your friendship.

It truly is the greatest gift.

Always my best,

David

Happy Birthday, David. May the next "as many" bring you all the best life has to offer.

Hi David,

Everything is relative isn't it. At 15, 55 seemed really old, at 25, 55 seemed old, at 35 it didn't seem as old and now that I'm at 45 it doesn't sound old at all!

Cheers,
Kenny

Well well!

Happy birthday Dave!

I hope you're having a great day. It's the weekend up there, so I hope it's been a good one.

I must drop you a line and say hello again. I was thinking of you a while back and remembered that we had not talked for a while, so I will have to catch up with you.

Thanks again, everybody!

My birthday is actually today (4/8), Easter Sunday.

So far, no one has mistaken me for an Easter ham.
But I'm still hiding out just in case...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAVID.
Hope your birthday is celebrated in a special way because you are a special person. And, 55 is not old--it is just this side of young and showcases all of your personal experiences which makes you what you are--a great and caring human being.

Wish you the best, David.

Aw gee, 55 you young squirt. Past that by leaps and bounds. Happy Birthday on Easter (hmm, here it looks more like Christmas) - Priest even said 'Merry Christmas' to the congregation: 'God is answering your prayers for a white Christmas, he's just a bit overworked'. All kidding aside, Merry Christmas David, err, ahh, I mean Happy Birthday! David!

Happy Birthday my friend. Well, yesterday (sorry). Wouldn't it be nice if the age clock would just stop ticking, lol. Then again, age represents life experiences and taken as a whole, that's priceless. Keep on tickin' and by all means, keep on writin'.

When I awoke this morning, realizing that
I was *gasp!* now over 55, new insights
flooded into my mind. It was time for a
complete reinterpretation of my life and of
my art!

I suddenly understood why it was that I
ended The Emergence of Time (http://northernsounds.com/forum/showthread.php?t=50591) the way that
I did. It wasn't dramatic pause, no sir, not at
all. What it was, was -- utter shock :wow: at
being so ancient... rofl!

And The Discourse of Stars (http://northernsounds.com/forum/showthread.php?t=51787)? Holy cow! It
finally dawned on me, that wasn't about
great cosmic events, not at all! Why, it
was about all those blinking, swirling things
I saw before my eyes when I tried to bend
over and put my socks on ~| .

Worse, The Realization of Light (http://northernsounds.com/forum/showthread.php?t=45342), which I'd
stupidly thought was an examination of
the human condition and our struggle for
enlightenment? Heck, no! It was really
just a long tune bemoaning the painful
morning-after results of mixing bourbon
and scotch at your 55th birthday party...

In any event, thank you all for coming,
and for your many kind thoughts! Now,
onto the next 55...

Always my best,

David

David,

After 55 0-|| one can become confewesed and the mind gets a little fleeced. :wow:

One day after your birthday and ewe already forgot "A Delectation of Woolgathering" (http://www.northernsounds.com/forum/showthread.php?t=48189) :D

May you have many more than 55 good years ahead.

Oy! A song about wool sweaters, no less... us
old codgers, we're cold all the time.

And Ruminations on Providence (http://northernsounds.com/forum/showthread.php?t=39140), here I thought it
was contemplation of a Higher Power. But no,
alas... that one was about eating vegetables in
Rhode Island.

Gotta get your roughage, you know... lol.

Happy Father's Day

Oh Darn there I go forgetting again. You do that when you have one foot on 60 and the other on a banna peal. I mean Happy Valentines, there I go again. Oh yes! Happy Birthday young fellow. They did say birthday. I think that what we are talking about. Oh God sixty is so close what I'm I to do.

David,

I wish I had more time to tell you what your words of encouragement have meant to us all. The time you take listening and carefully responding to all the posted music is wonderful.

Oh, and did I mention your one heck of a composer.

Thanks so much for sharing your gifts, your wit and your time with all of us, and may I wish you a very happy if belated birthday.

Thank god I'm past 27 1/2 :P I'm 29 now. A tired old man... :( But maybe there are older people than me in here, who knows. :D

Ok.

Sorry David, couldn't help it. Please don't kill me.

You are a lightbulb in this place! Monitor flickers each time the name etlux comes up! Not to mention my heart pounding etc... Good thing we live in different continents and are of the same , so you will know I'm not hitting on you! :D

Late happy birthday man! All the best, and may you be around for many many years to come.

I feel like I'm 64. Maybe I should amend my profile to show such things.

David, may I have your secret to 1/2'ing your age?!? I could really use that right about now :D

I hope that you're having a great day :)
Take Care,
Steph :)

Thanks, Steph, for the kind thoughts. The secret?
Try to leave the world a little better when you go to
bed at night than it was when you got up in the morning.
Your own troubles diminish in proportion, and you grow younger
and happier with the passage of the years.

Nikolas, stop winking at me like that. At 55, I could
be your father... rofl. Seriously, thank you for the
very kind thoughts, my friend!

Best,

David
