Here we finally see the correct way to handle this problem. As in the previous version, the instruments not playing the melody or the bass weave free contrapuntal lines to fill in the gaps in texture. Now the clarinets have complete parts. The horns are placed in the alto range, which is their NORMAL register. Also note how the horns favor open intervals (8ves and 5ths). This helps keep the texture clear and open, while at the same time adding a great deal of fullness in the middle.
