As a professional arranger, for many years I have tried to gather the most quantity of "colors" available of the orchestra instruments. Brass instruments have had many useful tonal resources with the use of mutes, and I can say that I am a very skilled arranger, ranging from small jazz ensemble to full symphony orchestra.
The thing is that beside "straight","harmon", "cup" and "plunger" mutes there had been a plethora of many other mutes (and different combinations of them) that most brass players I know had never used.
I would like to know if there is any arrangement book that might have a complete information regarding this topic, and (if possible) with audible examples to listen the different sounds.
Many thanks in advance.
