Just a quick test to see if Blender ( www.blender.org (http://www.blender.org) ... it's a free application and runs on Windows and MAC ) is able to be used to animate to finished music.
...and it is. It's amazingly similar to Sonar is that it uses envelopes and nodes in an IPO Editor.
........ and then part2 of the first clip is messing with Yafray rendering, and lighting artifacts.

.... and part 3 ... "not sure if the camera man survived ..." %-

Looks like you had fun.

If you really want to play the "Animusic" game (on a budget), Poser, of all programs, actually has the capability via a couple of shared Python scripts to drive animation elements from MIDI events. A real pain to go beyond a MIDI-controlled player piano, tho.

Yes. It's been a real educational couple of weeks here, just really getting a grip on Blender.

I wasn't aiming towards anything like animusic although I thought that project was great.

If I get where I want to go with this it would be character animation and possibly a ballet, though it is nice to know that poser understands midi.

Thanks for the heads up on that.
