Hello,

couldn't find it in the manuals:

When and how do I have to change strings on the Stradivari Violin & Gofriller Cello?

Seriously in trouble

Hajo, not sure anyone has thought of that! I think I'd just a go bit gently with them for now.

The Strad has no sul altra corda playing mode. The Gofriller G and G# keyswitches are sul altra corda (mono and poly respectively).

I change strings on my viola once a year or so.

Hajo,

You have no direct control on each string. This would have required to sample each string in its entirety.

The Gofriller, as tfisbein82 correctly points out, introduces “sull’altra corda” playing mode, activated by G1 (mono) and G#1 (poly) keyswitches.

As from the manual, page 36:

"Keyswitch G1 activates sull’altra corda playing. This patch works exactly as the default C1, but using sull’altra corda samples (played in higher position on lower strings) instead of of the normal sustains. Since each string of the Gofriller Cello has been chromatically sampled at two different dynamics (mp & mf) over an interval of approximately one octave, several notes for each string are available as sull’altra corda samples. These samples have a different, warmer timbre. Normal samples, i.e. on a higher string, are automatically selected when sull’altra corda samples are not available. Keyswitch G#1 activates Sull’altra corda samples in polyphonic mode."

Hope this helps, :)

Aren't you suppose to just take them off and boil them?

HajoThe strings on the Stradivari and Gofriller are long-lasting digital strings. We can send a replacement digital string if it ever breaks.

Seriously, I think you are asking about playing the same note on adjoining strings - Sul G, and Sul D. You can by activating the appropriate keyswitch.

At last I can breathe a sigh of relief and if you have the strong tension strings I am happy.
