I need to install DVD drives in my PCs so I can install EWQLSO. Currently I have the system drive and CD writer as slave on one IDE channel and the drive for samples on it\'s own on the second IDE channel. I\'m getting great performance in GS this way.
I\'m worried that if I add a DVD reader on the second IDE channel it will adversly affect my sample drive\'s performance. Is this definitely the case? I was wondering if there was a way to stop Windows XP polling an optical drive. A second option is to replace the CD writer on the first IDE channel with a DVD/CD writer combo drive. Would this be a better way to go?
TIA for any advice.
