Best memory specs?

Hey Folks -

Running Giga on a laptop - want to upgrade to 1GB. Can someone please tell me what the best quality RAM is, spec-wise? There are many manufacturers that claim to have \'compatible\' RAM for my system, but I know it is important to have high quality RAM. Thanks very much for your help!
