Hi Everyone

Ok, I bought Altiverb and I did not realize it was not going to function well on my DAW.

Here is my specs first of all.

I have a Intel Core Duo 2
2 Gig Ram
XP
350 Gig Harddrive
SONAR Home Studio XL
GPO

I was playing around with GPO and Sonar and assigned some FX reverb to a bus. I then reverted my VI through the bus, etc, etc. Everything is flawless with Garritan Ambience Reverb and Sonar's built-in Reverb.

I then tried to do it with Altiverb, and o my goodness. I can hardly play 3 notes and the latency goes bonkers and it is completely messed up.

Am I doing something wrong ? Or is this just what can be expected when you are using only 1 machine to do the recording and sequencing on.

Or maybe, is it a case of doing the reverb at the very last before final mastering.

Hope someone can share some light.

ALtiverb is VERY cool and I have used it with audio recording. But that was something completely different.

THANKS TO ALL YOU MIDI GURUS that give so much advise and help !!
What a awesome forum with awesome users !!!

Thanks

Hi,

something weird is going on since Altiverb should be very light on the CPU.

1. Which processor do you use exactly so we can check?

2. For starters go to Options and deactivate "Efficient high-latency mode" and set the "Tail Cut" to -120 dB. Does that change anything?

Hope that helps.

I agree Hannes,

It's working fine for me with a similar spec.

THANK YOU FOR THE REPLY AND THE HELP !!!
IT WORKED !!! I am just getting started with this, and appreciate all you
guys who have done this for slong. It was just as easy as getting the little
settings right, as you pointed out.

The Efficient high-latency mode was on and my tail cut was completely off.

THANK YOU !!!!:D:D
