Maximum Hard Disc Size for Win 98SE?

I have just installed a 200Gig WD hard drive but when I try to run scandisk or defrag it comes up with insufficient memory to run the programs. Does anyone know if there is a limit to the hard drive size under Win98. Many thanks.

There is a 127 GB limit in the OS. You can\'t
use any of the tools in Windows for your 200 GB
hard drive.

You need to both of the following:
1. Install the IDE card that comes with the
hard drive and use the IDE port on the card.
2. Use the tool that comes with the hard drive
to format and partition the hard drive.

It\'s time to move up to XP Professional..IMHO..

Huge HD space is necessary as we enter the 24 bit domain and better sampled voices...

My next original Latino score will feature a wonderful falling trumpet in a jazz Chorus. I\'m quite thrilled about it..

XP Professional has the same problem. You still
need to do the 2 things that I listed. At least
I need to do them to get my 200G hard drive to
work correctly.

Before WinXP came along, I heard talk of DVD authoring folks using 3rd party NTFS addons for Win98 but they are non-standard and might not work with GS.

WinXP Prof..handles a 200 gig IDE drive just fine here..no need for any extra boards. I can defrag, scan disk whatever...

BTW, here is my latest work with that Falling Bb Trumpet in the very last Jazz Chorus..
