Try deleting all files in the \"DB\" folder in the GigaStudio folder.

Thanks for your response, Simon.

I tried that, still freezes though.

I finally got it to get past the frozen Giga window to read;
\"initialization problems-error 219\"
and then;
\"error code 10000 problems with Gigastudio file\"
I then got it to start up in the Diagnostics mode but I actually could not get it to then run diagnostics.

Now it has gone back to freezing at start up.

Does this help anybody?

Just uninstall, delete the directory, delete all Nemesys registry entries, then re-install.

Then call Tascam over the phone and re-authorize it. It will take minutes instead of days waiting for the email authorization number.

That\'s what I did when my GS would always crash on startup.

Thanks Owel,

I did what you suggested and it stopped freezing but still gave me the same error messages, but then I changed the compatability mode in Properties to Win2K and it now seems to start ok now. (I tried that before the re-install to no avail)

Thanks again for your advice.

Best,

John Z.

Hi,

I\'m running Giga 2.5x on my Athlon 1.4ghz machine, Windows XP home etc.
Ran fine all day yesterday, last several months. The only thing i did out of the ordinary was that I did back up some samples from my audio/sample drives to my Firewire drive at the end of the day.
But as of this a.m. my PC now freezes as soon as I try to open Gigastudio. Defragged and error-checked my drives already.
Anybody have any ideas?

Best,

John Z.
