View Full Version : Convolution in K2P

In case everybody didn't know, there is a convolution reverb option in the K2 Player, just as there is in full K2.
There are two problems, however. The first is that there is a bug in version 2.2.3 where when using the plugin version of the player (i.e., one instantiated by Sonar, Cubase, Sibelius 5, or Finale 2008,) you can't drag and drop the IRs (Impulse Responses) into the "Impulse Window." This can be mitigated and there is a little trick you can do in the interim until NI fixes the bug.
The second is the lack of documentation. Folks with a full version of K2 have this while the rest of K2 Player users do not.
If there is some interest out there, I will attempt to do a brief tutorial on K2P Convolution. Just answer in this thread and let me know.

I've seen it explained several times on the Forums that one needs to set up the reverbs in the stand-alone version, then they'll be available when you open up instances of Kontact inside your DAW. Isn't that all there is to it?
---KP2 is still something I watch from afar, I haven't done the upgrade--so I'm just passing on what I've read.

Hi Randy,
I think by now most of the bugs have been ironed out of KP2, and from a purely GPO/KP2 perspective, its getting close to safe to upgrade. I've been using 2.2.3 with no serious problems.
....Now Sibelius 5 is not quite past inspection yet, but hey....:D
