I still have a question: what about site license upgrades?

Thanks,
Crispin

Afaik that policy has been abonded since Tascam took over Nemesys.

sounds like it\'s been abandoned in a good way-there\'s now a one per person license as opposed to a per install license.

at least that\'s how i interpreted it.

Im still trying to find out how much the upgrade is from GS160[pre Jan 2004] to GS 3.0 ensemble?

It\'s even cheaper to go from GS3 Solo to GS3 Orchestra: $539 versus $599 to just buy Orchestra.

Kinda funny.

It would be nice if Giga3 worked like Kontakt - 1 piece of software that I can install on multiple machines.

Somewhat amusing link... I like the way they\'re pitching giga as being a sampler that allows more than one sample per octave, unlike \'other samplers\'. Rather like boasting that my car has wheels.
I think having a license per machine will be suicide... at the moment, there is a slight possibility that I may be persuaded off Halion and back to Tascam, if G3 does actually prove to be more efficient than Halion, which certainly G2 isn\'t at the moment.
However, a license per machine would most definitely stop me from doing that.

Is there a comparison chart of the 3 versions anywhere? I read the voices difference. I\'m wondering what else is different.

I always am one to complain about upgrade prices
(GS2.5 96 > GS3 Orchestra $349). Kontakt or HALion is a more affordable alternative when I can get academic pricing for $199.

I wish they were a little more generous on the upgrade pricing.
Is Giga Pulse an add-on for all versions?

\"Can I use this product on my desktop and my mobile computer, or must I obtain a second license for this?
According to the license agreement your product can only be used on one computer at a time. If you want to use your product on your mobile computer as well, but not simultaneously, a second installation for mobile use is included under your main license.\"

I\'m not finding that particular phrase. It does sound a bit retro. I would like to see the context of that and see what the deal is.

The clear answer from my distributor was NO...

<font size=\"2\" face=\"Verdana, Arial\">I saw a thread in here somwhere that the marketing is somewhat focused on those who still use hardware/ keyboard/ rack-mounted samplers. That\'s probably why they put it that way.
