I have listend to many compositions in the Listening-Room.

Oops, I found out that a nice instrument, the triangle, is not often used....?! :o :)

What is the reason for that?

Oh great. Now every piece posted in the Listening Room for the next two weeks will have a triangle in it. ;-)

Triangles are great. They (like piccolos) can cut through the loudest orchestral tutti passages.

The Equilateral triangle was favored during the Classical era, but has fallen into disuse in recent times.
Contemporary composers tend to prefer the brighter tone of the Scalene and Isosceles.

I agree. A very humble, simple and modest instrument yet when used in just the right place it can make such a difference.

Not on 5 Dvd's. Only three. Because a triangle only has 3 sides.
Or did you forget? Maybe six, for damped and not damped (each 3).
I vote for a triangle wit CC#64.

Oh, your triangle-fu is SO weak. :D

It's a secret known only to the greatest triangle virtuosos that you can achieve the whole series of harmonics, amplified by sympathetic resonance from two opposite sides, plus pitch bending achieved by squeezing the thing (you DON'T want to arm-wrestle a true triangle virtuoso!) with a span of 4 and a half octaves! And oh, the number of sticks those masters have at their disposals!

Truly it's an underrated instrument! :D
