I sampled a plastic recorder and created a little demo of it .
But I have no place to post it. Can some one offer 860k of space? I will email it to you and you will put a link here on this thread. OK?
Thanks.

I\'ve just been commissioned by Douglas Warwick, the world reknowned virtuoso, to write a recorder concerto. Where can I get this sample set at?

Okay, I have to ask: why sample a plastic recorder?

Hi Nick,
I sampled the plastic recorder because that\'s what I have. I just wanted to see how good (or bad) I can sample something.
This thing is not for sale once you\'ll hear it you\'ll know why. What\'s interesting is, that with a few articulations you can get great realistic sounding results.
Do you want I should email you the demo?
I really want someone to upload this for me someplace and link to it from here so every body can enjoy.

Although I could not honestly tell you why, I am now very curious to hear his demo. Some one give him a place to upload it!

Thanks everybody for commenting.
There are breath samples as well.
The piano BTW is Bardstown\'s Bosendorfer.
Reverb is from Lexicon PCM 91.
And it\'s NOT played live!
You see, this respond is exactly what I expected. The sampling is not great at all. There are many notes that are out of tune. In the demo I tried not to use those notes much.
The format is KONTAKT 1.2.1. Maybe I\'ll send this to David Das\'s KONTAKT site.
What do you say?

Chaim,
Your demo sounds VERY real. Could have fooled me.
Nice work.
How about some details on how you did the sampling?

What about Giga? Can someone please translate this kontakt patch into a gig file?

Alex, the sample set is\'nt out yet.
I need to know, after you seeing all the facts (negative included) and hearing the demo, is some one ready to pay 5 bucks for this? Cause I can\'t give it away for free. Sorry.
I will see if it converts fine to giga with CD extract.

people with specific needs of a plastic recorder will probably buy it. But not many of us are in need of that. =)

Thanks Martin,
First I recorded Straight sustained vibrato with that atack sound on the front.
Later I duplicated this group in kontakt and edited the sample playback to start after the atack and gave this group the name Legato.
I maped the Legato group to the lower two 3rds of the velocity range and the Straight group to the top, all with in the same key switch. (note that not all notes have an atack sound to begin with, but that was what I did anyways to the notes that HAD the atack sound.)
Secondly I recorded a group of Stacato samples. Maped them and asigned a keyswitch.
The same with the Thrill group and the Glide group.
I only sample recorded notes that I was able to play on the recorder successfully. And even from those I deleted the real bad ones and transposed the needed ones in kontakt.
And after all that there are still some notes that are out of tune, which you don\'t hear in the demo, manley from the thrills and the glides at the higher notes.
I also recorded some breath sounds and maped them on the keyboard.
