I\'d like to know what kind of soundcarts people use in there computers. I use a Luna II, but I\'m looking for other possibilities.

I\'m using a RME Digi 96/8 PAD. Works beautifully. It\'s got an ADAT ouput so you can lightpipe 8 channels of audio to your sequencer.

I had a Luna II for about one week, but wasn\'t satisfied. I gave it back to my local dealer and got a Hammerfall DSP (Digiface) instead, which works flawlessly. Great ASIO and GSIF drivers.

What is the difference between Hammerfall Digiface and Multiface?

The Echo Layla24 seems a very nice soundcart to me. Anyone using that card?

Which computer? images/icons/smile.gif

Pulsar II in #1. Frontier Designs Dakota w/ Montana in #2. Frontier Designs Wavecenter PCI in #3.

And yes, I do like Frontier Designs. images/icons/smile.gif Great stuff. Also have their Tango24 as well.

Hiya...

Hoontech C-Port (multi-client) on my main sequencer computer, Egosys GigaStation on my Giga computer...

By the way, I would like to be more high tech... Would be possible to have 3 Giga computers going into my main seqeuncer computer through ADAT or lightpipes, and then monitor from the seqeuncer computer, thereby doing away the need to pass through a mixer???

Or you would you guys generally recommend the use of a mixer (analogue or digital stuff with lightpipes)???

The Delta 1010 also seems a good audio interface to me.

If I was you I would go with any brand of sound cart , it runs circles aound any of the basic sound card.
Not to mention its great for carrying groceries while listening to your favorite tunes.

Is a Pulsar II a good soundcart or are other cards better?

I use a M-audio Delta 1010 in my home studio, and have been very happy with it, except that their drivers are frequently buggy. If you find a good one and stick with it, then it is great.

I also have a laptop with an Echo Mona Laptop interface and am very happy with it. Echo\'s drivers are very good also.

At work, I use an Echo Mia which I also like a lot. Also at work, in our Giga machine we have a Frontier Dakota and Montana which has also been quite good.

I prefer the Pulsar soundcart over there standard issue soundcard. images/icons/grin.gif

Ok seriouly, I would not buy a pulsar because Creamware is in bad financial shape and there future is uncertain.
It seems from popular concencus that the RME is the best soundcard with the lowest latency and the most stable drivers. If thats out of your price range then the echo and midiman cards are great.
I have a Echo Darla 24 and never had a problem with it.

Creamware should be fine. Read on from someone of the company -

It\'s a minor slump for them with Noah taking more time to ship than antisipated.

I\'m interested in the RME Digiface.

Can someone also recommend me a good mixer to connect the ADAT to?
