I am wondering what some of you consider the best free and commercial vst or direct x plugins? I am particularly interested in hearing what are some of the more interesting effects processing ones available? Thanks.

Two freebies:
An excellent VST reverb at
http://www.smartelectronix.com/~magnus/ (\"http://www.smartelectronix.com/~magnus/\")

A great DirectX plugin that simulates the sound of turntables. Izotope Vinyl:

Check them out, you\'ll like them.

On the commercial side, Waves is the de facto standard.

Thank you MrArkadine. They are fantastic aren\'t they? Especially when considering the price.

Thanks Bruce. They are pricey plugins, but I hear they are worth the price.

One thing I\'m especially interested in - are there any plugins (other than your standard reverb, compression, eq stuff) that you pros use to enhance or change (morph/warp) the characteristics of the sound? I am not exactly sure if there are plugins of this nature. But the only name I can think of to describe it some kind of effects processing.

Cheers,
