Gary or Tom,
What are the implications of this for Garritan Products, if any?

None. We have had internal optimized builds of Ambience directly in the new Engine on Windows 32 and 64bits, PPC and Intel Macs for a while now.
Mind you those AU plugins dont include the VSTGUI based UIs that the VST version has. Adding this to the AU plugins would require non trivial amount of messing around.
We don't use the original UI interface no more, but something more flexible for our needs.

Yes, but what about using Ambience with the existing software on an Intel Mac. For example, loading the ambience plugin within Finale while using GPO K1 or K2 Player.

Well, it just works fine!
