The general consensus seems to be that 1.06 is much more stable than previous versions. However, there have been several reports (and my experience so far would tend to corroborate this) that this latest version can use up to 20% more CPU power than 1.051...
There is a thread on this here. (\"http://forum.cubase.net/forum/Forum2/HTML/050099.html\")

If 1.06 gives me problems, (I havent applied it yet) I can always do a rollback in XP images/icons/wink.gif
I thought I would post the news cause it\'s been so long since an update was released, around 8 months I think. I used to check for updates regularly but hadnt done so for a few months and whaddya know.... images/icons/smile.gif

Between the studio and home we\'ve got SX running on 5 machines. No performance increase on any machine. 1.06 is a great update.
I highly recommend it. Make sure to create a restore point first (XP). If your not happy with the results of the update, simply roll back!

Further to my previous post, it looks as though the reported increase in power required may just be a reporting error in the VST performance meters. Misleading, but not really problematic...
There may be a small increase in CPU usage due to new code but it\'s more like 1 or 2% than 20.

O.K thats great to know guys!.Mattzen, just curious, are us system linking 5 SX`s? and if so how mcuh is it for each dongle.I thinking of adding SX on my 2nd machine...right now it just has V-stack..take care..Rich

The update is working great but I still wish they added importing Video AND audio (there\'s a long work around using virtualdub, though....) Word is that is will be in SX 2.0 (currently now in Nuendo 2.0)

Rich,
One system has SX SysLinked to SX SysLinked to V-Stack. Second system has SX SysLinked to SX. Third system is SX alone.
Each dongle is it\'s own deal as far as I know. The reason V-Stack is in limited use right now is because it doesn\'t track tempo changes. You need a second copy of SX and duplicate your tempo map. A litte painful, but SysLink doesn\'t yet support the reporting of temop CHANGES. It will report an INITAL tempo. Word is that Steinberg will fix that.
Also, it seems that if you are experincing a perf increase with the new update, it may be related to the A1, if you are using it in your project. Replace the A1 with a version from an earlier install as a workaround.
Rob,
You know I totally agree with the video and audio seperation problem!!! It\'s certainly annoying! images/icons/mad.gif

Thats interesting.Last week i also reported a major bug with SysLk and v-stack.U can`t audition midi note from your sequencer when triggering sounds from v-stack unless u actually Move the note!!Hopefully they can fix that!!Also i cant believe u cant drag and drop Midi files into SX.Thats an unbelieveble oversite(especially when working with Stylus etc..).Still i love SX.Its been belly belly good to me..BTW what A1? Hi Rich, were you actually asking what the A1 is? If so, it is the VST synth plugin that comes with SX.
Interestingly, Cubase quit on me the other day as I was using the A1, doing filter sweeps with it. The whole thing just quit to the desktop. Over at the Steiny forum they call the phenomenon \"poofs\". images/icons/smile.gif I\'d never had a \"poof\" til the other day.
Scott.

My initial report of the update is very positive. No problem with cpu resources on my DAW\'s. I recommend this update.

I took it for granted they had implented this before i saw your post. Geez, then theres another 6 months before this gets implented then. =)
