Garritan Announces Three-Day Holiday "Go-Round" Revolving Extravaganza
72-Hour Sale Offers Unprecedented Discounts
Garritan is pleased to announce a unique three-day "Go-Round" revolving sale on its sample libraries. The various Garritan libraries will be sold at electrifying discounts, one after another, in a 72-hour revolving sale.
The Garritan Go-Round starts Saturday December 15th, noon PST; and ends December 18th, noon PST.
During the Garritan Go-Round, a Garritan library will be listed at a dramatically low price, each lot in limited quantities. Once the lot is sold out – Garritan will offer the next library, until that lot is sold out; with the process repeated until the sale is over on December 18th at noon. The Go-Round for each library lasts an unspecified amount of time – a library can sell out in as little as a few minutes (when the limited supply is sold out); or the Go-Round can last hours, prior to bringing the next library up for sale.
Libraries to be offered include Personal Orchestra, Jazz & Big Band, Concert & Marching Band, Stradivari Solo Violin, Gofriller Cello – and there may also be a few additional surprises throughout the 72-hour event.
The inspiration for the revolving sale came from the popular Woot-off. And in the same tradition, great bargains are to be had by all!
Get your trigger fingers ready, and take this unprecedented opportunity to save some real money on a Garritan library for yourself or someone special for the holidays!
We'll post more information soon!

'Woot' Named Merriam-Webster's Word of the Year (http://blog.wired.com/games/2007/12/woot-named-merr.html)
The public has decided that the ultimate word of gaming celebration, "Woot!" should be Merriam-Webster's Word of the Year.Visitors to the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary (http://www.merriam-webster.com/) website were invited to choose the Word of the Year...
The "vast majority" of voters chose "woot," which MWO defines as an interjection "expressing joy (it could be after a triumph, or for no reason at all); similar in use to the word 'yay'.":
http://blog.wired.com/games/images/2007/12/12/woot.gif
Very cool, i would have voted for it to be the word of year.
The first time i saw woot, it was posted by one of these young internet posters, but by one who is also in a college band, a percussionist, who plays at ball games, the drums.
Being a confident person that is not likely to ask "what on earth is that supposed to mean?", I assumed that it must be the written form for the noise people make at ball games when their team scores.
Like when dogs bark, it's woof, when people bark, it's woot!
I looked for conformation of this on the web, but sadly among the thousands of definitions that was not one of them.
So, i decided they must all be wrong, and possibly mis-informed, that surely this is as old as people hollering crazy noises at ballgames, and surely it predates all the internet forums.
I'm right and they are all wrong.:) It's My Truth, just like My Computer and My Documents.

Wow, a fantastic idea!
however, being in ickle England Im not sure exactly when this starts...will there be some blazing anouncement on the main page saying "click here for MASSIVE WOOT savings"? or will we just have to purchase them the normal way on the website?
Also, please dont put GPO first, simply cos I think pretty much everyone here has that, so we shall never get onto the other great libraries!
Just realised im doing a total of 30 hours shift work that weekend too...gutted...please dont buy up all the strads people! any chance of knowing what order they are coming up in? or roughly what time?!
Thanks Gary. Ive said it before and Ive said it again: you are a legend!

WILL THE FORUM BE SO INUNDATED, THAT ONE WOULD HAVE
A HARD TIME LOGGING INTO IT?
Just a thought?

Brilliant, thanks for clearing up timings!
Rhap2 has a point tho, it will be difficult to get in i think....Im seeing bloodshed and newslines:
"A tragic incident unfolded across cyberspace over the weekend. It is thought that an excess of several hundred hungry sample-library enthusiasts were releaved of surprisingly small amounts of cash as they fought, mouse and modem, to purchase several libraries released by a Mr Garritan. Although casualties were relatively light, consisting mainly of sleep-deprived Europeans, cyberpolice are taking this incident seriously. Earlier they released a statement reading: "Mr Garritan's Woot christmas sample library price drops are crazy. However we know that the libraries themselves are excellent, giving wonderful value for money. Therefore we must conclude that it is Mr Garritan himself is crazy." When asked for any comment, Mr Garritan replied "WOOT WOOT!!" Cyberpolics have since decided to drop all charges, saving money to purchase more RAM."

Hello everyone!
This is my first post and I'm glad that its preceeding a very exciting event! I've never done this before, so how exactly will the sale work? Will the revolving savings be listed on the main Garritan website during the event, or will they be posted here on the forum?
I've been using the GPO version that is included with Finale 2006, and I would really love to buy the full library. I've been thinking about it for a long time, and this seems like the perfect opportunity to jump in!
May God bless and keep you all!

Hi Gary and others who can answer my question!
THIS IS REALLY COOL! But...
I'm in Houston, Texas only till 21 December... If I am looky enough to purchase a product, will I get it before leaving Houston?
Also, is Houston in the same time zone as the time that is stated on the webpage?
Sorry, I am from Australia and I really don't know who's where and what, except that everything here is supersized!
meeehoon
I can't answer question number 1, but can give the info on Houston Time.
Houston is in the Central Standard Time zone (CST), which is two hours earlier than Washington State and all of the West Coast, which is in Pacific Standard Time zone (PST).
When it is 2:00 PM in Houston, it will be noon in Washington State.
David:)
PS: Welcome to Texas!

Gary,
Is there a standard shipping fee to Australia?
Cheers,
Keith.
"There will be a shipping fee of $6.00 for those in the US, $15.00 US to Europe and Asia sent via US Postal Service. Please note to those outside the US choosing Postal Service, no tracking is available. If tracking is a concern, please choose expedited shipping (FedEx). Note: atypcial locations may incur an additional shipping fee when using FedEx."

I think the idea is that the sale goes live later on, and the relevant links will probably appear then.

Right--As it says on the main site, and here on the Forum, the event starts at noon Pacific time and that's about 3 hours away as I type this.
I took the animated meter at the site to merely be a graphic, showing us how things will work during the sale.
Best of luck getting in on the good buys, all of you who are able to participate. I'm still short the Gofriller in my Garritan Libraries collection, but will need to wait until a later date to work it in.
Have fun everyone!

Any change that your old Garritan Orchestral Strings product might make an appearance at this sale? I've wanted to buy it for a while but it is not available anywhere anymore.
Have you considered making it available again for purchase via download?
