looking for a ballsy tuba patch!!

I need a tuba with a serious \"whomp\" factor! http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif So far all I\'ve heard are very wimpy tubas that lack the punch in the lower frequencies and the quickness of attack that I need. Any suggestions? a dry sample is ok...

Tuba God from Quantum Leap Brass is pretty good for that. If you layer Dan Dean\'s Tuba (brighter), its pretty fat indeed.

Yes, both the Tuba God patch on QLB and Dan\'s Tuba are good. Dan\'s Tuba goes more into the \"splat\" range if that is what you are looking for. As Nick said, you canlayer them for a really nice sound.

BTW, if you ONLY need a tuba, You can buy Dan\'s Tuba without getting the whole set. But both sets (QLB and DD solo brass) are good.

Unfortunately I made the stupid decision to buy the Kurz version of QLB! Aarrggg! Can I send it back and upgrade to the giga version?

Two suggestions:
1) Call EastWest directly and talk to them about a possible exchange, sometimes they will just charge you the price of shipping...go to www..com (\"http://www..com\") to find their phone number.
2) Pickup something like Chicken Systems Translator, (www.chickensys.com) it can convert several different formats including Kurz and Giga.

Also try offsetting the sample start poitn for variations on \"tightness\"
