Hey guys, I currently use MIDIOverLAN and am wondering what other midi via network programs are out there that do the same thing. And if any are better/ worse then the Music Labs one

Thanks in advance!

Sbenno announced something for free a couple of years ago. I used it, and it worked, but haven't had the need for a multi-machine setup since. I just can't remember what it was called, nor can I find the post in NS' search engine.

Anyone?

Not my words, but I think relevant here:

I'm using MIDIoverLAN3 with GS4 and it works great. We're bundling a demo copy with GS4.

I've been using the ipMIDI eval the past week and it seems to work great with GS3 and Sonar. Once I get full into working on my next project I will purchase it. It's fully function but requires a reboot after 60 minutes.

Do you use MIDIoverLAN too.
Can you make a comparision.

I use MIDIoverLAN with great success. Changing to another product will have only sense for me if it is freeware.

BTW: MIDIoverLAN works great with GVI & GS3 together with Bidule & SONAR 7

since MidiOverLan does not support 64 bit OS and GS4 is quickly approaching, what are you guys going to do? I am looking for stuff to replace MolCp3...

I notice that ipMidi is built for 64 bit:
http://www.nerds.de/en/download.html

but then i would have to throw away the 350 or so dollars i have invested in MidiOverLan....

Are you sure?

I'm not familiar with the product (so... advance apologies if I'm way off-base) but, when I looked here:

http://www.musiclab.com/products/rpl_new.htm

I saw references to XP64...???

Eric,

could you elaborate on your set-up using ipMIDI? that is, is it a PC <-> Mac setup? and are your computers going through a router (for net access)and, if "yes", how is ipMIDI handling any curveballs that the router might be throwing up?

many thanks,

OK their website does not list xp 64 in the system requirements, but it indeed does support xp 64, here is what I got from MoL customer service this morning:

"MOL CP 3 supports Windows XP x64, but doesn't support Windows Vista x64 yet. We plan to release an update soon."

*massive sigh of relief*

Nice. That really makes the demo bundle w/GS4 make a lot of sense.:)
