Wife and I finally saw the Blue Man Group at the HSB Arena here in beautiful down town Beefalo! Did we enjoy the group? Does Washington start with a "W"? :D Let's put it this way ... as a percussionist who hasne't had the oportunity to perform in over a year ... Holy CARP!!!! The whole group was awesome!
Gary was right ... I should have been a "Blue Man"! :D
:rolleyes:;);):eek:I have always loved those bluemen, ever since i first saw them on a video in Fry's, but have never seen them live. Bet that was great!
Styxx, you can be a blueman, i went to their website a few years ago, and it said they are always looking for new performers who are wild and crazy... ok maybe it didn't exactly say wild and crazy, but it was something kinda like that.

If you love percussion, also check out the stage version of Lion King!

I saw them in Chicago about 3-4 years ago. The backing band was also awesome.
I've resisted the temptation to get a drum, put a color light shining up from underneath it, pour water on the drum head, and bang away :wow:
I wonder what the neighbor would think :samurai:

I just copied a new work that the Blue Man Group premiered with the Philadelphia Orchestra last month titled "Etude For PVC Pipes And Orchestra (Some Assembly Required)" A clever piece, so if you see it coming to a concert hall near you, check it out. The voice over that accompanies the piece begins with "Thank you for purchasing "Orchestral Composition for Dummies."" so you can take the tone of the piece from that. Unfortunately I cannot fully realize the piece until the release of "Garritan Blue Man Group." Until then, it will just be a pipe dream.

So, if they can't think of any more compositions on those tubes does this mean they are "tube tied"?
OK, next time ...

Gary,
Maybe its time you got together with the Blue Man group and sample their selection of "instruments". The GPO, JABB & BMG!

I've seen them three times now. Once back in about 1988 before they were well-known, once in Vegas a few years ago, and just a couple of weeks ago here in Virginia. A great time was had 3x!
For Christmas, my wife purchased one of their abstract art pictures painted in one of their performances with the "spit" paint. She got it on Ebay, and it now hangs proudly on my studio wall.

I understand there are more than one or two Blue Man Groups that cover tours yet the group in Vegas remains in Vegas. Ezz this true?

From what I recall, there is one group that plays Vegas, one in NY, and one in Boston, though even those groups may rotate a bit. There are likely several groups that tour.

I think Gary should resurrect the Girl'e Man Group, go on tour, and or play Vegas to give the Blue Man Group a run for their makeup!
