I was reading the NYT obit on William F Buckley and ran across this discription of him:
sesquipedalian - characterized by the use of long words
Thought it might make a good word of the week

In the next paragraph, they have:
pleonastic - use of more words than necessary

So presumably he was pleonastically sesquipedalian (not to mention tautological)... ?

You guys talk funny!
My favorite crossword puzzle answer was in a National Observer Newspaper, long defunct now.
The clue was "hoarder of notes."
The answered was
"hemidemisemiquaversaver." How's that for a long word?
